ICCEC’s goal is to stop the commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) around the world.

The commercial sexual exploitation of children consists of the businesses of prostitution, pornography and trafficking for sexual purposes. It is a form of coercion and violence against children and amounts to forced labour and a contemporary form of slavery.
Youth Advocate Program International (YAPI), Booklet No. 3

At ICCEC, we take a rights-based approach, which means that CSEC survivors direct the work of the Centre. People who have experienced sexual exploitation as children know the reality. We need their expert knowledge to develop lasting solutions. ICCEC is a bridge between these survivors, and all those who can help put an end to CSEC – individuals, communities, and governments.

This website is a virtual bridge where

  • sexually exploited youth voice their experiences and solutions (experiential information),
  • the public become informed and motivated to act,
  • professionals find rights-based tools and experiential information.

The commercial sexual exploitation of children is widespread. Children you see on the street are just a fraction of those working the sex trade. In Canada, our country of origin, children are defined as people under age 18.

Between one and ten million children around the world are estimated to be involved in pornography, prostitution and trafficking.

CSEC is a huge global problem. You can help. more...
